After a five-year hiatus, the Barefoot Coaching Conference made a triumphant return, leaving attendees feeling reconnected, reenergised, and with a deeper understanding of belonging. Hosted at the Londoner Hotel in London, the event drew over two hundred Barefoot alumni from across the globe, offering a full day of powerful insights and networking opportunities.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Belonging”, and throughout the day attendees explored the importance of belonging in both personal and professional spaces, with thought-provoking talks from leading experts on how to foster connection and inclusivity.
One highlight from the conference was the exhibition and sponsorship by the International Coaching Federation UK (ICF UK). The ICF is a leading worldwide coaching organisation, with over 58,000 members worldwide. The UK chapter was in attendance to offer attendees a chance to get more information about how they can make the most out of being ICF accredited.
In addition to sponsoring the event, the ICF UK also extended an exclusive opportunity to conference attendees, offering a free one-year Friends of UK ICF membership for anyone who had completed an ICF-accredited course with Barefoot in the past 12 months. This affiliate membership opens the door for alumni to access the UK ICF Charter Chapter’s extensive resources, peer networks, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Founded nearly 30 years ago, the ICF is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession and is renowned for its rigorous credentialing standards. Its sponsorship at the Barefoot conference provided attendees with a unique opportunity to explore how ICF credentialing can propel their careers, while reinforcing their commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards within the coaching community.
Barefoot Coaching founder, Kim Morgan, spoke about the sucess of the conference and how the theme of ‘Belonging’ had a huge impact on the atmosphere of the day.
“This was the first conference we have had since before lockdown and it felt appropriate that the theme of the conference should be ‘Belonging’, recognising the Barefoot Coaching alumni community coming back together again en masse and in person!
The sense of belonging in the room was palpable, All our wonderful speakers shared their own unique perspectives on the importance of belonging, the challenges and the joys of belonging in organisations, families and the world at large. It was a thought-provoking, emotional, educational, and joyful day.’”
