Barefoot Coaching Partners With Breast Cancer Now To Support Aspiring Leaders

Breast Cancer Awareness Month came to close a few weeks ago, and it serves as an important reminder as to why charities such as Breast Cancer Now play a vital role in the UK. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, making up 15 per cent of all new cancer cases with 55,000 woman and 400 men diagnosed each year. If nothing changes, this will rise to one woman being diagnosed every eight minutes by 2040.

Breast Cancer Now is one of the largest breast cancer charities in the UK, and has been funding world-class breast cancer research for over 30 years. The organisation is also focused on building the future of its team through the launch of the Aspiring Leaders Programme.

In partnership with Barefoot Coaching, the charity will provide personalised coaching to its team members whilst also enhancing leadership skills that will drive forward its mission to support those affected by breast cancer.

This comes at an important time, as breast cancer diagnosis continues to rise nationwide. By developing the team both professional and personally, it is hoped they become more equipped and ready to adapt to the increasing demands of their services.

Breast Cancer Now plays a pivotal role in funding life-saving research and offering essential support to those affected by breast cancer. Their goal is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well. The charity’s Aspiring Leaders Programme aims to equip future leaders with key leadership skills while offering personalised coaching to enhance their personal and career growth, whilst enhancing the ability to meet the charities goals.

Here at Barefoot Coaching, we are experts in personal and professional development and we carefully selected a diverse group of experienced coaches to work with Breast Cancer Now’s aspiring leaders. With a shared focus on collaboration, honesty, and shared learning, the partnership aims to empower these leaders to make an even greater impact within the charity and beyond.

Breast Cancer Now is the latest third-sector organisation to invest in coaching. In the past six months, Barefoot Coaching has experienced a significant increase in Coaching enquiries from the sector with organisations of all sizes looking to utilise professional coaching in their workplaces.

“We’re thrilled to work with Barefoot Coaching,” said Jo Ivers from Breast Cancer Now. “Their personalised coaching will be invaluable to attendees of our Aspiring Leaders Programme, offering them the space to focus on their goals and further develop their leadership potential. This support comes at a significant time, as we continue to champion our vision of a future where everyone affected by breast cancer receives the care they need.”

“We’re incredibly proud to partner with Breast Cancer Now, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important reminder of the relationship we are embarking upon,” said CEO Andy Chandler. “It’s an honour to support an organisation making such a vital difference in people’s lives. By providing one-to-one coaching, we hope to help their aspiring leaders unlock their full potential and continue their important work.”
