Barefoot Coaching to debut at World of Learning Event

Our senior team has been invited to speak for the first time at a leading industry event. We will be exhibiting at the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham and will be delivering a live seminar on Wednesday, October 11 from 3pm to 3.30pm in theatre two.

Our seminar is set to explore: ‘Coaching the Whole Person at Work: Position in the Family’, which will be a fun and lively taster session from one of Barefoot’s programmes for organisations:  Coaching the Whole Person at Work.

The session will address how coaching the whole person at work can bring about powerful benefits to organisations, including improved employee engagement, a flattening of the organisational structure and an increased sense of community and belonging.

With over 20k visitors set to attend across two days on Tuesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 11, it is renowned as the UK’s most comprehensive event for all aspects of learning and development, bringing together leading professionals from the L&D community to learn, discover, interact and network.

As well as interactive zones and sessions, visitors have access to a whole host of seminars by industry experts.

Leading the seminar are our CEO and best-selling author, Kim Morgan MCC and Andy Chandler, Managing Director with over 30 years of experience working as a senior leader across multiple sectors and practising coach, specialising in working with senior leadership teams.

Kim said: “We’re excited that Barefoot has been invited to speak at World of Learning.  It’s a wonderful event that brings together the learning and development community all under one roof. It’s a great opportunity for visitors to really think about what they are currently doing within their organisation and come away with new ideas and techniques to offer the most effective learning experience.

“We believe that now more than ever, what teams and individuals need in order to perform at their best is effective one-to-one and team coaching. This type of coaching can be used to complement new and existing learning initiatives, and we are looking forward to sharing the many benefits of workplace coaching with attendees.

“The industry is constantly evolving with new methods, techniques and technologies, altering the way people learn, so it is so important that organisations are keeping up to speed with this, and this event is the perfect opportunity to do so.”

Since establishing our headquarters in Castle Donington, we have significantly expanded the team and global reach, making remarkable strides in the industry over the past 25 years. Including the success of our flagship ICF Accredited Coach Training Programme, launched in 2001, which was one of the first University approved coaching programmes in the UK.

On why we chose to focus the seminar on coaching the whole person at work, we have taken inspiration from leading psychologist Stewart Friedman, who said ‘firms that fully embrace the needs and interests of the whole person will win today’s competition for the best talent’.

Andy said: “Ultimately, we want to explore and express the power of coaching a whole person in the workplace. It’s a comprehensive approach, that takes into consideration the fact that when we show up to work, we bring our complete selves. Therefore, to be an effective leader, we need to better understand employees as individuals with different needs, personalities and levels of readiness for change.

“We want our seminar to be an interactive experience, where we invite delegates to reflect on their own childhood position in their family in a lively and fun way. As well as this, we’ll be discovering the underlying psychology around needs and reconnect with our individual needs as adults.”

To date, we have trained over 5,500 coaches from 28 different countries around the world, with this number continuing to grow every year. In addition, the business boasts a dedicated team of 150 associate coaches.
