What to Expect

These sessions are built for people who are interested in coaching, leadership, psychology, or are working in organisations, not necessarily looking to train as a coach, but interested in having better conversations in work and beyond.

Each session stands alone, and together they form a simple mini‑journey across the week.

11/05/26 – 12:30pm to 1:15pm BST

When we’re stuck, it’s often not because we lack effort, it’s because we’re seeing the situation through a single lens. In this session you’ll explore how assumptions and beliefs shape what feels possible, and how a small shift in perspective can create movement.

Hosted by: Andy Chandler, Barefoot Coaching CEO

12/05/26 – 12:30pm to 1:15pm BST

Difficult dynamics are part of organisational life, especially when priorities clash or communication breaks down. This session offers a structured way to explore different viewpoints so you can respond with more clarity (and less reactivity), even when you don’t agree.

Hosted by: Rachel Varrilly Gierula, Barefoot Coach and Tutor

13/05/26 – 12:30pm to 1:15pm BST

Many of us default to advice-giving. But strong questions can help people think for themselves, and create more ownership, clarity and momentum. This session is a practical experience of what that looks like in real conversations at work.

Hosted by: Andy Chandler, Barefoot Coaching CEO

14/05/26 – 12:30pm to 1:15pm BST

You don’t need “formal coaching” to have a coaching-style conversation. This session introduces a simple structure that can help you move from foggy thinking to realistic next steps — in one to ones, meetings and informal chats.

Hosted by: Andy Chandler, Barefoot Coaching CEO

15/05/26 – 12:30pm to 1:15pm BST

When progress stalls, it’s rarely just about motivation. This session helps you explore what’s actually blocking movement, practical, relational, emotional, systemic, and how naming the real obstacle changes the way forward.

Hosted by: Andy Chandler, Barefoot Coaching CEO

International Coaching Week at Barefoot Coaching

11th May to 15th May 2026

International Coaching Week is a global celebration led by the International Coaching Federation, inviting people and organisations to experience coaching and explore the difference it can make.

It’s about raising awareness, seeing coaching in action, and understanding how a coaching approach supports clearer thinking and better conversations at work.

Through a series of short, practical sessions that we call Barefoot Talks, we’re creating space for people working in organisations to experience coaching in real-world contexts, without jargon, training requirements or pressure.

Our intention is simple: to open the door to coaching in a way that feels accessible, useful and unmistakably Barefoot.

A Pioneering History In Coaching

Founded by Kim Morgan MCC, a UK executive coaching pioneer, Barefoot Coaching has been at the industry forefront for over 30 years.

We established the standards for ICF and University approved coach education in the UK. Our heritage is built on the belief that coaching should be rigorous ethical and transformative ensuring maximum impact for our clients.

The name “Barefoot” reflects our philosophy, inspired by Nadine Stair’s poem: “If I had my life to live over, I’d dare to make more mistakes next time. I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and would stay that way later in the fall…”
